Women’s Center offers small business seminar

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The Women's Resource & Action Center (WRAC) and the Iowa Women's Foundation (IWF) will present another seminar in the 1999-2000 Women and Money Series, "Women, Technology, and the Small Business," Thursday, May 25 from 6-9 p.m. in Room C231 of the Pappajohn Business Building.

Women of all income levels, computer, and business knowledge are invited to attend this free workshop. This workshop is the second in a three-part series and is co-sponsored by the Small Business Development Center.

Maureen Collins-Williams, director of the University of Northern Iowa Small Business Development Center, will present a hands-on workshop on applying technology to every facet of the small business, including e-commerce, web-sites, on-line business research and internet marketing. Since 1992, Collins-Williams has worked extensively with women-owned businesses and is able to give expert guidance in the area of technology and business development.

This small business workshop is the second in a series of three seminars addressing a variety of women's ideas and concerns about business development. Participants are encouraged to attend one, two, or all three workshops in this series.
