Public invited to May 18 seminar on sleep disorders

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Area residents are invited to hear University of Iowa Health Care experts discuss sleep disorders at a free community seminar at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 18 at the Clarion Conference Center in Coralville.

Mark Dyken, M.D., and Deborah Lin-Dyken, M.D., will present "Sleep Disorders from
A to Zzzzz…." This program is part of the "Health For Your Lifetime" series presented by
UI Health Care.

The broad-based presentation will include discussion of sleep apnea and snoring, parasomnias (including sleepwalking and sleeptalking), and pediatric sleeping disorders. A question-and-answer session will follow.

Dyken is an associate professor of neurology and director of the Sleep Disorders Center at the UI Hospitals and Clinics.

Lin-Dyken is an assistant professor (clinical) of pediatrics and is affiliated with University Hospital School.
