Car seat safety checks available at the Iowa County
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Area parents and family members
can have free car seat-safety checks from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July
11, at the Iowa County Fair in Marengo.
Michelle Malloy, pediatric nurse-practitioner at Marengo
Medical Center and UI Family Care Center, Belle Plaine, and Pat Dellamuth
from the Iowa County Health Department are certified car seat-safety technicians
and will check children's car seats to make sure each is secure and protective.
According to recent statistics, four out of five car seats are put in incorrectly.
A childs car seat cannot be protective if it is not installed properly.
The Iowa County Fair will take place at 800 E. Marion
St. in Marengo. For more information or to schedule an appointment for a car

patient care, medical education and research programs and services they provide.
