Women's Center to offer American Sign Language workshop series

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The Women's Resource and Action Center (WRAC), 130 N. Madison, will offer "Beginning American Sign Language (ASL)," a ten-week series beginning Thursday, Feb. 3 from 6-8 p.m.

Taught by Brenda Falgier, an instructor in the University of Iowa ASL program, and Joy Spurlin, the workshop will teach basic ASL vocabulary and grammars and focus on areas of interest to the participants. There will be no exams, but an optional book and videotext, "Signing Naturally," is recommended for participants.
