WILLS DISCUSSED ON WSUI/KSUI'S 'LAW AT IOWA' PROGRAM -- University
of Iowa law Professor Pat Cain will discuss the importance of wills March
4 and March 5 on the WSUI/ KSUI UI Radio Forum series "Law at Iowa."
Listeners will learn about wills, who needs one, and implications to heirs.
Cain, who is currently writing a text on trusts and estates, talks with host
Lois Cox, a clinical professor in the UI College of Law.
Law at Iowa airs at 9 p.m. Saturday, March 4 and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March
5 on WSUI AM 910, and 5:30 p.m. Sunday March 5 on KSUI FM 91.7
SUPERVISORS AND MANAGERS WORKSHOP MARCH 30 -- The University of Iowa
Office of Staff Development is sponsoring a supervisors and managers workshop
from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 30 on the UI campus.
"The Basics of Supervision" is an all-day seminar for both new
and experienced managers. Topics presented will include: getting and keeping
good employees; supervising in times of conflict, crisis, and confrontation;
and utilizing creative decision-making techniques.
Dan DeSalvo of the Hofstra University's Business Development Center will
lead the seminar. Rated the top trainer by Motorola and known for his entertaining
style, DeSalvo has delivered hundreds of seminars to organizations around

says Maureen McCormick, coordinator of UI Staff Development. "This conference
can help supervisors create a plan for handling difficult situations and celebrating

ENTREPRENEUR ASSOCIATION MEETING MARCH 1 -- The newly formed University
of Iowa Entrepreneur Association will meet 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1 in
the Iowa Room of the Memorial Union.
Ed Moldt, director and founder of the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center,
will speak at this kickoff meeting of the association. Moldt is an experienced
entrepreneur who is currently working on new websites for entrepreneurs.
The purpose of the club is to provide a forum to facilitate the development
of entrepreneurial innovation and creativity through the exchange of ideas,
experiences and knowledge across all academic disciplines at the UI. The association
will be closely affiliated with the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center.
"We intend to bring established entrepreneurs to share experiences
and educate students. We also intend to create relationships between local
entrepreneurs and the students," said Lisa Heirigs, a UI student who
helped organize the group.
The association was started by a group of business and engineering students
who are either pursuing entrepreneurial ventures or are looking to sharpen
their skills. The club is open to all UI students.
