Deer Creek Family Care in Toledo offers one-hour class on infant massage

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Deer Creek Family Care at Deer Creek Health Center, Toledo is offering a class on basic techniques of infant massage Saturday, March 4 from 2 to 3 p.m.

The class is taught by Nilofar Ahmed, a native of Pakistan and the wife of Mushtaq Ahmed, M.D., family medicine physician at Deer Creek Family Care. She will teach the basic principles of infant massage, including how it is performed. Infant massage is a practice that has been shown to improve blood circulation, stimulate digestion and promote the overall health of the baby while also benefiting the caregiver.

The cost of the class is $10, and it is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about infant massage. Registration for this class is encouraged.
