Madison Street to be partially closed to traffic Feb. 14 to June 2
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The western southbound lane of Madison Street, between
Jefferson and Market Streets, will be closed for nearly three months beginning
Monday, Feb. 14, so the second phase of construction can begin on a campus
utilities project and exterior repair project at the Iowa Memorial Union.
Work on the project, which is expected to continue until June 2, will also
result in the removal of five off-street parking stalls in front of the IMU
for the project's duration.
A portion of the eastern northbound lane of Madison Street that was closed
during the first phase of the project will be reopened Monday, allowing for
the creation of two temporary southbound lanes and one northbound lane.
