Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center offers Seed Capital Grant program

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center is currently accepting applications for Pappajohn Center Seed Capital Grants. Four $10,000 seed capital grants will be awarded to eligible entrepreneurial companies over the next two years.

Candidates must meet several eligibility requirements. First, the candidate must be currently enrolled at the University of Iowa or be alumni of the UI. Secondly, the company must be located in the Iowa and must not have plans to relocate the operation to another state over the next three years. The business must also demonstrate evidence of start-up activity and significant market potential. Lastly, the seed grant cannot exceed 50 percent of the original capitalization of the business.

The Center will be accepting applications, which includes a detailed business plan, until
Feb. 29. Center staff and a review committee will make recommendations for awards.
