UI Community Home Care to expand
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- University of Iowa Community Home Care will acquire the
assets of Home Life Companies, two Iowa City-based firms, officials announced
Home Life, established by B. W. (Wayne) Carpenter in 1989, specializes in
private duty services. UI Community Home Care will continue to use the name,
Home Life, for those services. The personnel of the companies will become
UI Community Home Care employees.
"Home Life's mission is to provide high quality, efficient and cost-effective
health-related services to clients in their homes to promote wellness,"
said Carpenter. "I am confident that University of Iowa Community Home
Care will continue that commitment to serve our clients' needs."
Home Life's staff of more than 100 specialists includes registered nurses,
licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, home health aides
"Under the guidance of Mr. Carpenter, Home Life has a tradition of
providing high quality private duty services to the community," said
Danette Frauenholtz of UI Community Home Care. "All of us are grateful
to him for his vision and leadership."
Victoria Thiede, executive director of Home Life, added, "Our staff
provides compassionate health care to our clients which reinforces and supplements
the care provided by family members. We look forward to carrying on the legacy
of caring that has helped in excess of 1,000 patients maintain their dignity,
safety, mobility and independence through care in the home."
University of Iowa Health Care describes the partnership between
the UI College of Medicine and the UI Hospitals and Clinics and the patient
care, medical education and research programs and services they provide.
