UI Community Home Care to expand

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- University of Iowa Community Home Care will acquire the assets of Home Life Companies, two Iowa City-based firms, officials announced today.

Home Life, established by B. W. (Wayne) Carpenter in 1989, specializes in private duty services. UI Community Home Care will continue to use the name, Home Life, for those services. The personnel of the companies will become UI Community Home Care employees.

"Home Life's mission is to provide high quality, efficient and cost-effective health-related services to clients in their homes to promote wellness," said Carpenter. "I am confident that University of Iowa Community Home Care will continue that commitment to serve our clients' needs."

Home Life's staff of more than 100 specialists includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, home health aides and therapists.

"Under the guidance of Mr. Carpenter, Home Life has a tradition of providing high quality private duty services to the community," said Danette Frauenholtz of UI Community Home Care. "All of us are grateful to him for his vision and leadership."

Victoria Thiede, executive director of Home Life, added, "Our staff provides compassionate health care to our clients which reinforces and supplements the care provided by family members. We look forward to carrying on the legacy of caring that has helped in excess of 1,000 patients maintain their dignity, safety, mobility and independence through care in the home."
