UI Health Care physical therapist leading Ivanhoe online chat on diabetes this week

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Rhonda N. Barr, a University of Iowa physical therapist, is a co-leader for an online question-and-answer session on diabetes through Friday, Dec. 15. The online discussion is hosted by Ivanhoe News and can be accessed at

Barr specializes in helping people with cardiovascular disease, especially as it relates to diabetes. She is the coordinator of the UI REACH program -- Reaching Euglycemia and Comprehensive Health -- which offers free community screening for diabetes and an eight-week prevention program for people at risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Barr holds a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from Indiana University and a certificate in physical therapy from the University of Pennsylvania. She earned a master's degree in physical therapy from the UI in 1982.
