UI classes, exams on despite winter weather
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Classes and final exams are being held as scheduled today, Monday, Dec.11, at the University of Iowa despite the inclement weather. However, students and faculty should use their best judgment in deciding whether they can safely travel to campus today.

Faculty members who cannot travel are asked to contact their department office. Students who are unable to make it to final exams should get in touch with their instructors to make arrangements for taking exams at another time.

University of Iowa staff members should also use their best judgment about whether they can safely travel to work. Those who feel it is unsafe should contact their supervisors to alert them of their absence from work. In general, the university continues to function during inclement weather. In particular, the following university departments remain open and in operation:

  • Residence Services
  • Facilities Services Group
  • Public Safety
  • University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics
  • University of Iowa Dental Clinic

The University of Iowa now has a Weather Hotline with the latest information about potential cancellation of classes during extreme weather. The Hotline number is (319) 335-1234.
