UI Alumni Association, UI Health Care to host program on coronary artery disease

BURLINGTON, Iowa -- The University of Iowa Alumni Association and UI Health Care are co-sponsoring a program about screening for coronary artery disease at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2 at the Burlington Golf Club, 2124 Sunnyside Ave. in Burlington.

William Stanford, M.D., UI professor of diagnostic radiology, will give a presentation identifying newer screening methods, such as the CT detection of coronary artery calcification, which will allow the identification of individuals at greater risk for the disease.

With recent media attention, coronary calcification screening has become an important topic in evaluating coronary artery disease. The latest advances in this important area will be presented.

The Tuesday evening program is free and open to the public. For more information or to RSVP, contact the UI Alumni Association at (319) 335-3294 or 1-800-IOWALUM, or visit its website at
