Post-colonial writer Lim to lecture Thursday, April 6

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Suchen Christine Lim, a visiting scholar with the Iowa Writers' Workshop, will present a lecture at noon Thursday, April 6 titled "Race, Language and Culture: Writing for a Multi-Racial Society in Singapore."

The lecture will take place in the Jones Commons room on the third floor of the Lindquist Center, which houses the University of Iowa College of Education at the corner of Burlington and Madison Streets. The event is free and open to the public.

One of the foremost post-colonial writers in the world today, Lim attended the UI International Writing Program in 1997 on a Fulbright Scholarship. She is the first Singapore writer and the first woman to win the Singapore Literature Prize for her third novel, "Fistful of Colours."
