UI researchers seeking men, women for high triglyceride, low HDL cholesterol
IOWA CITY, Iowa Men and women are invited to take part in one of two
cholesterol studies being conducted at the University of Iowa College of Medicine.
Healthy men and women age 18 and older may be able to participate in one of
the research projects at the UI Lipid Research Clinic. Free cholesterol tests
will be provided as part of the screening process.
The studies will evaluate and compare the effectiveness and safety of different
cholesterol medicines on high triglycerides and low HDL cholesterol. The 4
to 6 month studies will require 9 to 10 visits to the clinic in Iowa City.
Physical exams, laboratory evaluations, nutrition counseling, and compensation
will be provided to participants in all studies.
