Support group for dealing with diabetes begins Sunday, Oct. 24

IOWA CITY, Iowa — A support group to provide a non-medical forum for people living with diabetes is being offered at the University of Iowa Women’s Resource and Action Center, across from the Iowa Memorial Union, beginning Sunday, Oct. 24 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

"Dealing with Diabetes" will meet for six consecutive Sundays to share concerns, frustrations and fears related to diabetes. The group is open to people diagnosed with diabetes as well as friends and family members of people with diabetes.

"Diabetes does not just affect the individual with the disease; it affects everyone who loves and cares for that person," says Jessica Ahrendt, support group facilitator.
