Parents, Partners Day at College of Law scheduled for
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Parents, partners, family and friends
of University of Iowa College of Law students will see first-hand what life
as a law student is like, learn the philosophy of law training, and other
facets about law study at Iowa at the colleges annual Parents and Partners
Day, Saturday, Oct. 30.
The days events begin at 8 a.m. with law school
building tours and proceeds with a mid-morning mock law class taught by law
Professor James Tomkovicz and a panel of students. Events continue with a
mid-day barbecue and culminates at 8 p.m. with "The Wizard of Laws,"
a law school musical, put on by law students, staff and faculty. The musical
is a free and public event and will be held at the second floor ballroom in
the Iowa Memorial Union. All other events take place at the College of Law.
Parents and Partners Day is held at no cost to attendees
and is designed to introduce students parents and their significant
others to the pedagogy and professional culture of legal education in a way
that is both enlightening and entertaining.
Parents and Partners Day is organized by the Iowa
Student Bar Association and the Office of the Dean. For more information about
