'Reclaiming Our Lives' support group begins Oct. 20 at Women's Center

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Support for women who feel loss of control in relationships is the focus of "Reclaiming Our Lives," a six-week discussion group that meets Wednesdays beginning Oct. 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the University of Iowa Women's Resource and Action Center (WRAC).

The group will provide social support and information regarding abusive relationships, as well as information regarding community resources.

"Women dealing with emotional, physical or sexual abuse from their partner often feel isolated and alone," says WRAC Group Coordinator Keri Neblett. "'Reclaiming Our Lives' provides a safe, confidential and nonjudgmental atmosphere for women to connect with a community of women in similar situations," Neblett adds.

Please call the Women's Center at 335-1486 to register or to arrange for accommodations and child care.
