IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Iowa’s Center for Agricultural Safety and Health (I-CASH) will hold its annual fall meeting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the Des Moines Botanical Center, 909 E. River Drive in Des Moines.

The meeting gives individuals and organizations working on farm health and safety issues the opportunity to exchange information on their programs, research and activities with others working or interested in agricultural health and safety.

Topics to be discussed will include the environmental safety of large-scale livestock production and the socioeconomic and mental health implications of the current farm crisis.

Stephen Gleason, director of the Iowa Department of Public Health, will deliver the keynote address at the meeting.

In addition, there will be 15 presentations about ongoing farm health and safety projects being conducted around the state.

I-CASH is a partnership including the UI, Iowa State University, the Iowa Department of Public Health and the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. Its mission is to reduce illness and injuries among Iowa’s agricultural population.
