Health Iowa workshop focuses on time management

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A University of Iowa workshop will address one of the main sources of stress for Americans — time management.

"It’s All About Time: Managing it Before it Manages You" will be presented from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10 in the Miller Room (Room 259) of the Iowa Memorial Union. The workshop is part of "Health Iowa Presents…" the continuing workshop series sponsored by Health Iowa, the educational branch of the UI Student Health Service.

Sarah Hansen, a health educator for Health Iowa, will present the interactive workshop, designed to alleviate time management problems for local residents and college students who consistently cite time issues as causing stress and academic problems.

"Managing time well takes a little effort at the beginning," Hansen said, "but in the long run it gives you much more flexibility and time for work or school and for fun and relaxation."

Workshop participants will have the opportunity to take a self-assessment, learn the keys to effective time management and create personalized action plans for the rest of the semester.

The workshop is free and open to the public. Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend UI-sponsored events. If you are a person who requires an accommodation in order to participate in this program, please call Health Iowa at (319) 335-8388.
