UI to host national conference on gifted education in rural schools May 21-22

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa will be the site of the inaugural Wallace Family National Conference on Gifted Education in Rural Schools May 21-22.

The conference will bring together leading researchers and advocates for gifted students in rural schools and highlight issues relevant to gifted education in rural schools throughout the nation.

One feature of the event will be the presentation of a report titled "Gifted Education in Rural Schools: A National Assessment," which is being researched and produced by the Connie Belin and Jacqueline N. Blank International Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development. The Belin-Blank Center and the Institute for School Executives, both part of the University of Iowa College of Education, are co-hosting the event.

Conference registration fees are reduced for those who register on or before May 1, but on-site registration also will be held in the East Lobby of the Iowa Memorial Union at the University of Iowa.
