Marengo residents offered osteoporosis prevention information

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Marengo Medical Center will hold a free education seminar on osteoporosis prevention from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 18 at the Marengo American Legion, 1240 Lafayette Ave. Area residents are invited to attend the informational program entitled, "Preventing Osteoporosis: Building Stronger Bones."

Michele Burnes, a certified physician assistant at Marengo Medical Center, will discuss the effects of medication, exercise and nutrition on osteoporosis.

The Marengo Medical Center, located at 255 W. Lucas St. in Marengo, is an affiliate of University of Iowa Family Care. For more information, or to register for the free seminar, contact the center at (319) 642-5213.
