Bridging the Gap minority law conference set for March 5
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Minority students interested in careers in law are
invited to participate in the 22nd annual "Bridging the Gap"
minority pre-law conference that will be held at the University of Iowa
College of Law. The conference begins Friday, March 5 at 8:30 a.m. and
culminates with a dinner at 5:45 p.m.
The daylong event features UI law professors who will speak about how
to select a law school, offer information about financial aid, and career
opportunities in law. Representatives from eight law schools, including
Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, and Missouri-Columbia will be present at the
scheduled law recruitment fair.
"The program is a good way to break the ice by giving the conference
guests an opportunity to meet law professors and students. The program
acclimates students to law school," says second-year law student Tameka
The conference cost is $15 for UI students with identification and $30
for non-students. Registration ends March 5, the day of the event.
