UI to host occupational health symposium March 25-26
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- An occupational health symposium will be Thursday
and Friday, March 25-26 at the Iowa Memorial Union on the University of
This symposium is for health care providers, safety professionals and
administrators interested in issues affecting the health and safety of
workers. It provides participants with up-to-date information on clinical,
industrial, agricultural and legal issues in the workplace.
Symposium topics include health care delivery, health and safety regulations,
workplace injuries and illness, working and management, new technologies,
research, and cultural diversity. This conference will cover changes in
health care delivery that may impact workers and health care providers,
exploring the current management of common workplace health problems and
the health needs of diverse worker populations.
The symposium is jointly sponsored by WORKSAFE IOWA and the Iowa Center
for Public Health Practice in the UI College of Medicine's department of
preventive medicine and environmental health, and the UI College of Nursing's
department of organizations, systems and community health.
