UI medical student receives anatomy award

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Brian Lindaman, a University of Iowa College of Medicine student, received the Henry J. Prentiss Award from the UI department of anatomy and cell biology.

The Prentiss award is presented annually in recognition of outstanding performance in the medical gross anatomy course. Lindaman, of Lowden, was recognized at the Anatomy and Cell Biology Annual Student Awards Presentation held April 30.

Prentiss, who served as the head of anatomy from 1904 to1931, is honored by a student prize because of his long and devoted service to students, the College of Medicine, and the UI. He was well known for his dissecting skills and was an effective teacher with considerable influence. Prentiss felt it was important that medical students perform to their best abilities in basic as well as clinical sciences.

Lindaman is the son of Dave and Linda Lindaman, also of Lowden.
