UI offers Evening MBA courses in the Quad Cities

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- Working business professionals in the Quad Cities area can pursue a master of business administration (MBA) degree from the University of Iowa Henry B. Tippie College of Business, choosing from evening and weekend classes at its Davenport center.

UI MBA fall semester classes begin Aug. 21, but new students should register now for the best selection of classes. The UI's site at the Kahl Educational Center, 26 West Third Street in downtown Davenport, houses classrooms, and provides access to computer labs and library resources. Scott Community College/Eastern Iowa Community College District administers use of the Kahl Center.

Tippie College of Business faculty will teach marketing management, human resource management, managerial economics, investments, and several other classes at the Center.

"Our curriculum is designed for college graduates who want to upgrade their skills for a professional career in business or the public sector," said Colleen Downie, director of the Evening MBA Program. "Students come to the program from a variety of backgrounds, majors, and professional experience and really thrive on the high-quality educational experience our faculty provide."

To earn a degree, students must be admitted to the program and complete a total of 45 credit hours. Space is available for non-admitted students who want to take classes in the fall semester prior to formal admission.

Tuition and fees are $882 for a three-credit-hour course. A deferred payment plan and financial aid are available.

The UI also offers Evening MBA classes in Des Moines, Newton and Cedar Rapids. Registration is now under way via the Internet, or by phone, fax or mail. For more information, contact the Henry B. Tippie School of Management at 1-800-MBA-IOWA (1-800-622-4692). Course and registration information is also available on the program's website at
