Former U.S. Senator Bill Bradley will read 'Live from Prairie Lights' Feb. 2

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Bill Bradley, former U.S. senator, professional basketball player and presidential hopeful, will present a free reading at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2 in Buchanan Auditorium of the University of Iowa Pappajohn Business Administration Building. The reading will be broadcast on the "Live from Prairie Lights" series, originating on WSUI radio, AM 910.

Bradley is the author of four books: "Life on the Run," "The Fair Tax," "Time Present, Time Past" and "Values of the Game."

A New York Times Book Review critique said Bradley's writing "reflects the realities of modern politics, what it looks like, feels like, from the inside."

Bradley was a three-time basketball all-American at Princeton University, an Olympic gold medalist, a Rhodes scholar, a member of the New York Knicks from 1967 to 1977 and two-time NBA champion. He was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1982.

Bradley served as United States senator from New Jersey from 1979 to 1997. Since leaving the Senate, he has taught at Stanford, the University of Maryland and Notre Dame.
