Public invited to free University of Iowa seminar on glaucoma
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Area residents are invited to hear three University
of Iowa ophthalmologists discuss glaucoma at a free seminar Tuesday, Jan.
26 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hampton/Clarion Conference Center in Coralville.
The seminar is sponsored by University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
"Health for Your Lifetime: Advances in Glaucoma: Guiding the Way
to the Future" is the first in a series of educational seminars
planned this year. The three University of Iowa ophthalmologists are Thomas
Weingeist, M.D., Ph.D.; Lee Alward, M.D., and Young Kwon, M.D., Ph.D.
Weingeist, professor and head of ophthalmology and visual sciences,
will introduce the program with a brief description of glaucoma.
Alward, professor and director of glaucoma and perimetry services, will
discuss the latest advances in the diagnosis of glaucoma.
Kwon, assistant professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences, will
review treatment options for people with glaucoma.
