UI offers Evening MBA courses in the Quad Cities

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- Working business professionals in the Quad Cities area can pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Iowa College of Business Administration, choosing from evening and weekend classes at its Davenport center.

UI MBA spring semester classes begin Jan. 19, but new students should register now for the best selection of classes. The UI's site at the Kahl Educational Center, 26 West Third Street in downtown Davenport, houses classrooms, and provides access to computer labs and library resources. Use of the Kahl Center is administered by Scott Community college/Eastern Iowa Community College District.

Classes in Davenport taught by UI College of Business Administration faculty include organizational behavior, corporate financial reporting, managerial finance, and international economic environment of the firm, operations management, strategic management and business policy, advertising and promotion strategy, and dynamics of negotiations.

"Our curriculum is designed for college graduates who want to upgrade their skills for a professional career in business or the public sector," said Colleen Downie, director of the Evening MBA Program. "Students come to the program from a variety of backgrounds, majors, and professional experience and really thrive on the high-quality educational experience our faculty provide."

To earn a degree, students must be admitted to the program and complete a total of 45 credit hours. Students who are admitted to the MBA program have registration priority. Slots are available for non-admitted students who want to take classes in the spring semester prior to formal admission.

Tuition and fees are $765 for a three-credit-hour course. A deferred payment plan and financial aid are available.

Registration for the Quad Cities MBA classes is now under way via the Internet, or by phone, fax or mail. For more information, contact the UI School of Management at 1-877-EVE-MBAS
