New learning technologies featured at New Media Day Feb. 11
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- University of Iowa faculty, staff and students will
share the latest learning technologies at Ninth Annual New Media Day Feb.
11 at the Iowa Memorial Union.
The event is from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the 2nd floor ballroom of
UI faculty and staff will have a chance to share ideas and see demonstrations
of cutting-edge technologies to enhance learning and scholarship.
Presentations will be given on digital video streaming and conferencing,
new media and the arts, wireless LANs, Internet 2, and other computer applications.
National and local software developers including IBM, Apple and Silicon
Graphics will also showcase their products.
The New Media Day is presented by the UI Center for Teaching, the Stead
Advanced Learning Technologies Center in the College of Business Administration,
Learning Resource Center in the College of Education, Language Media Center
in the College of Liberal Arts, and the Academic Technologies division
of UI Information Technology Services, and the Information Arcade and Information
Commons of the UI Libraries.
Registration is $15 for students and emeritus professors, $35 for UI
faculty and staff, $50 for off campus, non-profit organizations, and $150
for off-campus, commercial organizations.
