Former U.S. Sen. Bill Bradley schedules fireside chat with UI students Tuesday afternoon

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Former U.S. Sen. Bill Bradley will be on the University of Iowa campus Tuesday, Feb. 2 to hold a fireside chat with UI students. The chat, which will focus on issues of human rights and diversity, will be from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Wayne Richey Ballroom of the Iowa Memorial Union.

Bradley served as United States senator from New Jersey from 1979 to 1997. Since leaving the Senate he has taught at Stanford, the University of Maryland and Notre Dame.

He was a three-time basketball all-American at Princeton University, an Olympic medalist, a Rhodes scholar, a member of the New York Knicks from 1967 to 1977, and a two-time NBA champion. He was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1982.

Bradley is the author of four books: "Life on the Run," "The Fair Tax," "Time Present, Time Past" and "Values of the Game."
