West Des Moines resident named president of National
IOWA CITY, IowaW. Barry Crist of West Des Moines
has been named 1999-2000 president of the National I-Club, the University
of Iowa Foundation's fund-raising organization for annual contributors to
men's and women's athletics.
Crist is a 1967 graduate of the University of Iowa's
Henry B. Tippie College of Business and has served on the National I-Club
Board since 1986.
Other 1999-2000 I-Club officers are Iowans Gary Hughes
of Iowa City, first vice president; Nolden I. Gentry of Des Moines, second
vice president; and L. Wayne Wood of Davenport, third vice president. Darold
Sindt of Keystone, Mike Magnusson of Fort Dodge, and Ted Pacha of Iowa City
were named to the executive committee. Larry Bergdale of Cedar Rapids is past
Toby Shine of Spencer was elected as a new member
of the I-Club board at the group's June meeting.
The I-Club has more than 11,000 members representing
every state in the nation. Hawkeye fans who contribute $40 or more annually
to the UI men's and/or women's athletic programs are members of the I-Club.
Gifts are made through the UI Foundation, the preferred channel of support
for private contributions to all areas of the University of Iowa.
