Public invited to free seminar on stroke

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Area residents are invited to hear University of Iowa experts discuss stroke at a free seminar from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, May 3 at the Hampton/Clarion Conference Center in Coralville.

"Stroke: Reducing the Incidence and Impact" is the fifth in a series of "Health For Your Lifetime" educational seminars planned this year. Harold Adams, M.D., and Patricia Davis, M.D., will speak at the seminar.

Adams, UI professor of neurology, will discuss the advancements being made to help prevent strokes.

Davis, UI associate professor of neurology, will review the various risk factors that can lead to a stroke and how these risk factors can be modified with certain lifestyle changes.

The seminar is sponsored by the UI Hospitals and Clinics.
