UI staff, faculty will receive new form of earnings
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Staff and faculty will begin receiving
new earnings statement forms this summer. The statements are generated by
the new human resources information system that was purchased to make the
university's human resource systems Year 2000 compliant.
Besides some changes in appearance and format, there are
minor changes in the information provided, says Joe Joynt, payroll manager.
"Vacation/sick leave information will no longer be included on this form,
but will be made available to employees by their individual departments. Premiums
for the TIAA waiver, unemployment insurance, and workers compensation also
will no longer appear on the earnings statement, though coverage for these
programs will remain unchanged," Joynt says.
Theres also a new, randomly generated, seven-digit
employee identification number on the form, but human resources staff can
still use the social security number or the employee's name alone to access
the new electronic human resource records.
