Wilson, Brooks elected to landscape architects organization
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Two University of Iowa staff members of the Facilities
Services Group (FSG) have been elected to offices in the Iowa Chapter of
the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). Larry Wilson, campus
planner with FSG-administration, will be president-elect of the professional
organization and will serve for three years. Robert Brooks, landscape
architect with the design and construction services department of FSG,
was elected vice president, a one-year commitment.
Wilson and Brooks will take office in the 110-member Iowa Chapter Oct.
1 during its national annual meeting in Portland, Ore. Members must have
work experience as a landscape architect and have a degree from an accredited
college or university or be licensed after passing a national exam.
The Iowa Chapter carries through many initiatives of the 12,000 member
national ASLA organization, serves as liaison with other state sister professional
organizations, sponsors a landscape architecture design awards program
and continuing educational programs, as well as spring and fall state-wide
