Wilson, Brooks elected to landscape architects organization

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Two University of Iowa staff members of the Facilities Services Group (FSG) have been elected to offices in the Iowa Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). Larry Wilson, campus planner with FSG-administration, will be president-elect of the professional organization and will serve for three years. Robert Brooks, landscape architect with the design and construction services department of FSG, was elected vice president, a one-year commitment.

Wilson and Brooks will take office in the 110-member Iowa Chapter Oct. 1 during its national annual meeting in Portland, Ore. Members must have work experience as a landscape architect and have a degree from an accredited college or university or be licensed after passing a national exam.

The Iowa Chapter carries through many initiatives of the 12,000 member national ASLA organization, serves as liaison with other state sister professional organizations, sponsors a landscape architecture design awards program and continuing educational programs, as well as spring and fall state-wide conferences.
