'Succulent Wild Women' is new group offered through WRAC

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- It's a group in which women can do outrageous things for themselves and other women, from holding midnight teas to writing poetry and dancing under the moon. The University of Iowa Women's Resource and Action Center (WRAC) is pleased to announce a group called "Succulent Wild Women."

The group will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each Thursday for eight weeks beginning Oct. 1. All meetings will be at the Women's Resource and Action Center, 130 N. Madison, Iowa City. The meetings are open to university and community women. Activities will include finger painting, crazy quilt making, sidewalk chalk art and many other fun activities.

"Succulent Wild Women" takes its name from a book by a women named Sark, who creatively and colorfully discusses the fears that women face -- from society and from within themselves -- and offers simple suggestions for women to "explore their wildness."

To register, or for more information, call the Women's Center at (319) 335-1486.
