Kurth speaks at business startup seminar
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Kathryn Kurth, associate director of the University
of Iowa Small Business Development Center, will be among the speakers at
a seminar "How to Start and Operate a Successful Business" Tuesday,
Sept. 29 at the Iowa State Bank and Trust.
The seminar, sponsored by the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE)
begins at 6:15 p.m. at the bank, 102 S. Clinton St., in Iowa City.
Kurth will discuss the importance of developing business plan when starting
a small business. The seminar also includes presentations by Chris Pacek
from Iowa State Bank and Trust, who will discuss sources of capital. Gary
L. Carlson from Clifton, Gunderson and Co. will discuss records, financial
analysis, taxes, permits and regulations.
