Students to get career advice from UI Black Alumni Association

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Students can get valuable career advice from members of the University of Iowa Black Alumni Association Saturday, Sept. 19 from 1:30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. at the Second Floor Ballroom of the Iowa Memorial Union.

All students are invited to attend the Career Connections information session sponsored by the Iowa Black Alumni Association (IBAA) as part of their 35th Annual Reunion. IBAA members will be available to discuss academic and career goals in an informal setting. Students can get advice on topics such as careers, graduate schools, and working and living in various cities across the U.S. The session is part of the IBAA's goal to not only serve alumni, but to serve current students as well, according to Jeff Liebermann, director of alumni programs for the UI Alumni Association.

Career Connections is part of the IBAA 35th Annual Reunion Sept. 18-20 at the Highlander Inn in Iowa City and the UI campus. The IBAA will recognize leaders in the organization with their Trailblazer Award 7 p.m. Sept. 19 in the Second Floor Ballroom of the Iowa Memorial Union.
