University of Iowa Arts Share program provides artists to communities throughout Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The 1998-99 artist roster of the University of Iowa Arts Share Program has been set, and the program is now accepting requests for artists.

The Arts Share program provides arts education opportunities to schools and communities throughout the state of Iowa and the Midwest region. Those interested in sponsoring an event are encouraged to contact the office at (319) 335-1618. A brochure detailing the program's 1998-99 offerings is now available.

The artist roster includes faculty members from the UI School of Art and Art History, the School of Music, the dance and theatre departments, and the Writers' Workshop. Graduate students who are enrolled in UI programs in the arts may also participate if recommended by a faculty member. Many Arts Share artists have performed throughout the United States and abroad.

Programs are available for students from kindergarten to college, as well as for adults and community groups. All programs are identified by age-appropriateness, and many presentations are accompanied by teaching guides and materials.

Arts Share artists and ensembles are affordable. The Arts Share program can assist with expenses for schools and organizations with scholarship funds made possible through the University of Iowa Foundation and corporate grants.

Arts Share is located at 1004 Voxman Music Building, the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA 52242.
