Opportunities for women interested in law to be explored at law conference Oct. 31

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Women who've ever contemplated studying and practicing law will be afforded an up-close and personal perspective on the profession at a Women in Law Recruitment Conference at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 at the University of Iowa's Boyd Law Building.

The informal event begins with a breakfast with law faculty and will feature information on admissions, financial aid and placement as well as panel discussions by women law students and attorneys.

Another of the day's highlights includes a mock class presented by Patricia Acton, UI law professor, and a keynote address by Annette J. Scieszinski, an Iowa District Court judge.

The conference costs $13 and includes a registration fee and breakfast and lunch.

The event is sponsored by the Organization for Women Law Students and Staff, the UI College of Law and the Iowa Student Bar Association.
