UI Center for the Book hosts book studies historian Oct. 17

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa Center for the Book will host Jonathan Rose, Drew University professor of history and president of the Society for the History of Authorship, Reading, and Publishing, Saturday, Oct. 17.

Rose will present two lectures: "The Difference Between Fact and Fiction" at 9 a.m. and "How to Teach the History of the Book" at 1:30 p.m.

Each lecture will be followed by a discussion and is free and open to the public.

The lecture is the first in a series of five that feature visiting experts in the history and culture of the book. The series is organized by the UI Center for the Book and is supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
