Team building workshop for educators, counselors offered via ICN
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa Center for Credit Programs
is offering a team building workshop for teachers and counselors Friday
and Saturday, Nov. 20-21 via the Iowa Communications Network.
The workshop "Team Building - Strategies for Small and Large Organizations"
will be offered Nov. 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and continue Nov. 21
from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
ICN sites for the workshop include Iowa City, Ankeny, Bettendorf, Cedar
Rapids, Clarinda, Clinton, Council Bluffs, Creston, Fort Dodge, Marshalltown,
Mason City, Ottumwa, Peosta, Sheldon, Sioux City, Spencer, Waterloo, and
The workshop will explore the theory and practice of team building.
Instructors Dick Dustin and Stewart Ehly will feature examples of effective
team building strategies, train participants in techniques that promote
important outcomes for team members, and provide related information on
effective collaboration. Participants will consider the advantages and
limitations of team building options based on the needs of their work site.
Teachers, counselors, and mental health professionals can benefit from
this workshop, while school administrators, support staff professionals,
and the general public will also appreciate the workshop for its emphasis
on the development of effective team building skills.
The workshop is limited to post-undergraduate enrollees who have relevant
work experience or standing in a graduate program. One semester of hour
of graduate credit is granted upon completion.
Tuition cost is $176 per semester hour graduate credit. To register
