Acclaimed author T.C. Boyle will read from his latest work Nov. 12 at the UI

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- One of the nation's most celebrated authors, T. Coraghessan Boyle, will visit Iowa City during a six-city, promotional tour of his work, "T.C. Boyle Stories." Boyle was invited to Iowa City by the UI Libraries and co-sponsors Prairie Lights Books and the Iowa Writers' Workshop.

Boyle will read from "T.C. Boyle Stories," a collection of 68 tales, at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12 at Buchanan Auditorium in the Pappajohn Business Administration Building. The reading will be broadcast on "Live from Prairie Lights," aired on WSUI AM-910.

"T.C. Boyle Stories" contains works written between 1972 and 1997, ranging from the mythical and realistic to the farcical and tragic. Boyle won the PEN/Faulkner Award for "World's End" and is the author of the bestseller, "Riven Rock," as well as nine other works, including the acclaimed, "I Dated Jane Austen." His writing regularly appears in "The New Yorker," "Harper's," "The Paris Review," "Playboy," "Esquire," and "The Atlantic Monthly."
