UIHC sponsors seminar on Alzheimer's and aging
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Area residents are invited to a free seminar discussing
Alzheimer's disease from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the Hampton/Clarion
Conference Center in Coralville. The seminar is sponsored by University
of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics as part of its centennial celebration.
Health for Your Lifetime: Aging and Alzheimer's is the sixth
in a series of educational seminars planned this year. The seminar will
feature three University of Iowa specialists:
Paul Mulhausen, M.D., Steven Anderson, Ph.D., Gerald Jogerst, M.D.
Mulhausen, assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine,
will describe Alzheimer's disease, how it is diagnosed and the symptoms
that occur as the disease progresses.
Anderson, professor in the Department of Neurology, will discuss the effects
of Alzheimer's disease on the brain and behavior.
Jogerst, assistant professor and interim head of the Department of Family
Medicine, will provide information on the latest advancements in the treatment
and care of those with Alzheimer's disease.
