IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa College of Medicine and the UI department of internal medicine will host a conference on current diagnostic and therapeutic issues related to Type I and Type II diabetes on Saturday, May 30 at the Clarion/Hampton Inn in Coralville.

"Diabetes Update 1998: Risk Management for People with Diabetes and People at Risk for Diabetes" is open to people with the disease, their families and the public. Conference participants will learn more about the meaning and definition of diabetes, early signs of diabetic complications, and new developments in diabetes treatments.

The $25 registration fee includes handouts, a continental breakfast and refreshments.

Pre-registration is recommended. The blood test fee can be sent in early with the registration fee or can be paid the day of the conference.
