Additional study spaces open at IMU for finals week

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- University of Iowa students will find additional study spaces available in the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) this weekend and next week. In addition to the regular study areas on the ground floor, which will be open until 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, May 11-14, the following spaces will also be available:

* Saturday, May 9, 7 a .m. to midnight, east end of the Main Lounge (first floor). The ground floor will be closed for an event.

* Sunday, May 10, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Ballroom (second floor).

* Monday, May 11 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., River Room (first floor).

* Tuesday, May 12, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., River Room.

* Wednesday, May 13, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., River Room.

* Thursday, May 14, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., River Room.

The plans to stay open later and provide additional study space are a continuation of a cooperative effort between the IMU and UI Student Government, said David Grady, director of the Office of Campus Programs and Student Activities. In addition to keeping various areas open later for students, the Instructional Technology Center (ITC) in the Student Activity Center on the ground floor will be open until 2 a.m. and the Union Market will be open until 1 a.m.
