UI business program offers seminar on new leadership skills April
2, 16, 30
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Helping people learn acqunew leadership skills is
the focus of a seminar series provided by athe University of Iowa business
program on Fridays, April 2, 16, and &30.
"Leading Edge Leadership," presented by the UI Office of Management
and Business Development, will meet at the Cedar Rapids Area Education
and Conference Center, at 221 Third Avenue S.E., in Cedar Rapids.
The series is open to the public but requires advance registration.
Each day's session begins at 1 :00 p.m. and concludes at 4 :00 p.m.
The course is designed for anyone who is interested in learning new
leadership skills and is based on the idea that today's leaders have to
are being called upon to think differently, behave in different ways, and
build new styles of relationships in their organizations.
The seminars focus on effective leadership techniques and how leaders
must learn to live with ambiguity and continuous change.
Registration fees are $350 per person. For two or more people from
the same company or organization, the fee is $325 per person.
Lois Bartelme, a principal in the consulting firm Applied Learning Innovations,
and Sue Dallam, director of the Office Management and Business Development,
Ph.D., will lead the seminars. Bartelme has 20 years of experience leading
individual and organizational development efforts and culture change in
corporate, educational, military, and not-for-profit organizations. leading

the College of Business Administration at the UI, has broad experience
in workplace assessment, managerial development, and organizational change.
