WHAT: University of Iowa College of Medicine Match Day, when graduating students learn where they will complete their medical residencies
WHO: UI medical students and their families
 WHEN: Wednesday, March 18 at 11 a.m.
WHERE: Atrium, Eckstein Medical Research Building on the UI campus
On Wednesday, March 18, graduating UI medical students will join their peers from across the country as they learn where they will spend the years following medical school. The annual Match Day event is the culmination of their medical education, an exciting moment that marks the beginning of their careers as physicians.

Media are invited to join students and their families at the UI College of Medicine's Match Day event. Match results will be revealed at 11 a.m., so reporters covering the event may want to arrive early. Typically, Match Day is an excellent opportunity for video and photos, as well as interviews with young future physicians.

Staff from the UI Office of Health Science Relations and the College of Medicine will be on hand to help arrange interviews with students and administrators. A news release with Match Day results -- including the top medical career choices for UI graduates -- will be distributed at the event.

For more information on Match Day, contact Lin Larson at the UI Office of Health Science Relations, (319) 335-9569 or
