Participants invited to join UI rheumatoid arthritis studies
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Men and women age 18 and older are invited to participate
in one of four University of Iowa College of Medicine studies of new medications
to treat rheumatoid arthritis.
Adult men and women who have been diagnosed by a physician as having
rheumatoid arthritis and have had the condition for at least six months
are eligible to take part in one of the four UI studies. Researchers will
investigate the effectiveness of four new medications in alleviating the
pain and swelling associated with rheumatoid arthritis. The medications
are TAK 603, VIOXX, Trocade and Samarium.
All research sessions will occur at the UI Hospitals and Clinics in
