UI business program offers seminar on leadership and change Sept.
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Helping managers and supervisors learn leadership
skills for a changing work environment is the focus of a seminar Tuesday,
Sept. 23 at the University of Iowa College of Business Administration.
"Leadership in a Period of Change," presented by the UI Office
of Management and Business Development, will meet in Room W401 of the Pappajohn
Business Administration Building.
The seminar is open to the public but requires advanced registration.
The day's sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. There is an
hour break for lunch.
The course is designed for managers at a variety of levels in business
organizations and is based on the idea that anyone in a supervisory position
should develop leadership skills.
The seminar focuses on the qualities of effective leaders, the leadership
style of effective executives, the leadership behavior needed during periods
of change and other topics.
Registration fees are $225 per person. For two or more people from the
same company or organization, the fee is $200 per person.
Jude P. West, professor in the department of management and organizations
and director of executive programs in the UI College of Business Administration,
will lead the seminar.
