UI job listings available on line

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Listings of job openings at the University of Iowa are now available on the World Wide Web.

"We want this information available to as many people as possible," says Lyra Dickerson, assistant director of the UI Employment Office. "Professional and scientific as well as merit information is available to anyone who has access to a computer. Until now, printed information on merit positions was only available in three locations on campus," she adds. The office updates professional and scientific employment listings every two weeks and merit job information weekly.

As always, women and minority candidates are encouraged to apply for these positions. "The university values diversity among its faculty and staff as well as its students," says Susan Mask, director of Affirmative Action at the UI. "We believe that a rich diversity of people and the many points of view they bring enhance the quality of the UI work environment as well as the services the university provides," she adds.

The on-line listing supplements the printed version and the UI Job Line, a recorded service that provides job listings 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For information, call:
